HOW THIS BOOK CAME TO BEKathryn’s story
Though channeling has never been my profession, it has been a deeply enriching aspect of my life and spiritual development. I began my conscious spiritual journey in the mid 1970s, when a friend made an appointment for me to meet with the silent monk, Baba Hari Das. He had a chalk board. I have no idea if I spoke or if he wrote anything. It was as if my heart cracked open and I sobbed until it was time to leave.
That experience began a passionate exploration of spiritual meditation practices, attending workshops and retreats with Buddhist, Hindu, Sufi, and Native American medicine men and women teachers. I was the guest of a Druid high priestess at sacred rituals and gatherings. While I was never attracted to the dogma, rules or forms of particular beliefs or practices, I embraced the sense of expansion and connection to something beyond the material, visible world. Accompanying a friend to a channeling workshop with Roslyn Bruyere in 1986 led to my unexpected awakening as a channel for spirit guides. I began serious training in her program and have been a channel since then.
The nature of my work in the world led me to keep channeling quite separate. While my spirit guide and teacher Kuan Yin and I taught workshops, led small groups and did occasional private sessions, my channeling focused primarily on my own personal and spiritual growth until I retired.
Spirit guides have different purposes. Amun was the first spirit being I met. He is my gatekeeper, my protector and guardian. When I was developing my ability to channel, I had a guide I called Amaxus who explained he worked with new channels to smooth the way. There was ‘The Healer’ who brought forward extremely powerful transformative energies, but as I opened my abilities to receive their energies more fully, our energies were not fully aligned and we had to part.
Decades ago, I had a guide who wanted to bring forward material about climate and earth changes. I wasn’t ready and declined. Then there have been guides with whom I have had a deeper relationship and an openness to their purposes in being with me. During an emotionally difficult time, Thelson arrived to provide weekly sessions focused on releasing fears and old emotional issues. Amatawa came to be with me to push me into stepping forward and owning what I could contribute. She definitely helped me, but my resistance definitely frustrated her. The Ansari came in 2020 to let me know it was time to step off the cliff and fly with greater freedom. As gentle as they were, their message scared me. But I was ready. They let me know when their work with me was done and they moved on.
I am constantly working to refine my channeling, and as I do so I am joined by new teachers whose purposes can be served in our work together. Currently I actively work with a team of teachers. Kuan Yin, who anchors my compassion and heart, and Makel, my very patient and wise healer, are long-time companions. Melchizedek, present over the last four years, guides not only what I teach but what I learn from teaching. Archangel Michael has not only guided my work with clients, but also my connection with my soul and the Divine. Archangel Metatron has helped to extend the vibrations I can open to.
The Idea of the Book
That’s how we get to this book, which was quite honestly not my idea. Makel indicated that they wanted to do a book on the evolution of the Earth and humanity, because of the energies gathering to support movement to a higher dimensional1 plane.
