Thebright lights in the precinct were making Leneus blind. He was still bandaged and felt beaten. It was only five days ago that he was admitted to the hospital on that frightful night. He could not figure out what was worse, the beating he got that night, or the mental beating he was getting from Police Chief Petriee for the past hour.

“God damn it Leneus!” yelled Petriee again. “You are being charged with the murder of Police Chief Hermecion. Do you want to say anything?” Petriee was close to losing his nerves as well as his physical restraints, he was a big man and he never liked Leneus too much anyway.

Leneus just looked at him. That night was still pretty much a blur in his mind. He remembered bits and pieces, but not the whole scenario. He did remember a few things.
