Training Begins

In two weeks, Bruce was back on his feet and given a work schedule. He was to have coffee made by 6 a.m., prepare breakfast according to individual preferences, clean the kitchen, make beds, clean, vacuum, do laundry, be available to make lunch if anyone came home and ordered it, and make dinner according to a schedule made out a week in advance. He had a lunch break from noon to twelve thirty unless he was called upon to make someone lunch and was free (or at Jane’s disposal) after cleaning up from dinner. Bruce was subject to punishment by anyone who caught him not working. Since their class schedules varied, the women might drop in at any time. It was a challenge for some of them to sneak in and catch Bruce sitting or reading the paper.
