Trudy Griffin-Pierce (1949-2009) was an associate professor of anthropology at the University of Arizona. She is the author ofNative Peoples of the Southwest;Earth Is My Mother, Sky Is My Father: Space, Time, and Astronomy in Navajo Sandpainting; andNative Americans: Enduring Cultures and Traditions, and contributed a chapter to National Geographic'sPeoples of the World. Her research focused on the Apachean peoples, especially the Navajo, which led her into the field of anthropology. |
