| Our combined resource teaches the skills of map reading starting with the basics to the more advanced. Combining the curriculum-based lessons for grades prekindergarten to eight, our resource highlights the elements of map reading from symbols and the compass rose to lines of latitude, longitude and time zones. Students will learn the basics of map reading, starting with a general overview of the continents and countries, then becoming more specific with topographic and choropleth maps. Comprised of reading passages, map activities, crossword, word search, comprehension quiz, and test prep, our resource incorporates curriculum-based lessons with Google Earth™ so students can further understand the complexities of map reading with the help of visual and interactive technology.
