Peter Weiss' project of an 'aesthetics of resistance' positions the work of art against its ideological uses, following theories of the avant-garde. This study broadens the discussions around the 'aesthetics of resistance' by reading the novel 'Fluchtpunkt' as an essential early stage of a theory of aesthetics that combines a poetics of memory with an advanced theory of modernist aesthetics. br />
