Chapter 1
2000
Bobby Roderick sat alone behind the Resolute Desk in the Oval Office. Dismayed, he reviewed yet another stack of meaningless House bills, pondering his legacy. His presidency was going to be over in about seven months.
How was he going to be remembered? As a great president? Shit, he was going to be remembered for bedding trollops like Ginny LeFleur and Mandy Lewis. That and being terrified of Dolly.
He remembered back, long ago, to a time - a brief time admittedly - when he actually loved his wife. He loved her through their college days and most of the honeymoon year, until he realized that she was a frigid bitch not even remotely interested in sex. He never fooled himself into believing Dolly had the same raw animal attraction for him most women did. With most women, all it took was five minutes. He could simply flash a big smile, flirt a bit and bang, his quarry would be locked in a bathroom with him, stroking what was now the First Penis.
Dolly was different. He had to admit that was why he was attracted to her at first. She wasn’t an easy lay---and she was so ambitious. Dolly was the only woman, maybe the only person, in the world more ambitious than he was. That ambition carried his love through the wedding and most of their honeymoon year. Unfortunately, it was soon evident that the only reason she married him was her ambition. She wasn’t a gold digger like most women he had run into over the years, wanting to be pampered, spoiled and showered with gifts.
No, Dolly was far worse. She was a power monger. She simply wanted to ride the Roderick train to the White House. Bobby had to admit, her plan worked perfectly, and although Dolly may have been impressed, perhaps even proud of his political prowess and power, she wasn’t even vaguely interested in having sex with him. In fact, she treated him more like a son or a player on a team she was coaching.
He should have known what his life portended. After their honeymoon coupling, sex was allowed every six months and then drifted out to every three or four years. Knowing that, how could he be blamed for Ginny LeFleur? Dolly never forgave him for Ginny, but a man has his needs. Dolly should have known that a man as ambitious as he would have stronger sexual urges than an average man, he justified to himself for the umpteenth time. She brought all this on herself. After all, it’s not as if he totally ignored her. Bobby convinced himself he tried to
