Chapter 2 - Arrival
I had imagined an airport much more chaotic and louder. Perhaps it was also because of this early time that I felt it differently: it was only six o'clock in the morning. My plane left in two hours. Slowly I dragged myself to the counter and became more and more nervous.
A good-looking, friendly smiling woman greeted me: “British Airways, good morning. - Miss Matluhn, your ticket is booked for first class. Would you please follow my colleague to the first-class premises?"
I looked at her a little surprised: Nobody had ever treated me so courteously before, but with the necessary change anything was possible. I nodded and silently followed the nice uniformed young man.
“Miss Matluhn, would you like a glass of champagne or something?"
“I'll have a glass of champagne. Thank you very much.”Perhaps my inner restlessness would probably decrease, I thought to myself in secret. But fortunately for me, they knew nothing about the short break, and that was a good thing.
After a while the rooms filled up with more and more people and suddenly my flight was called. Now it was time: My first flight to a foreign country, and I had to admit to myself that I was really a little afraid of the unknown.
When I had taken my seat and fastened my seat belt, the plane took off a short time later. At first, I thought my ears would burst, but after a few minutes I had overcome that too.
After another glass of champagne and some fruit I was really looking forward to England. What would expect me there? Would they be disappointed in me or rather arrogant? But what did I worry about, I had to let it come to me. Maybe Linda was right and there would be a fairy tale prince waiting for me. After my eyes had closed at some point, the stewardess suddenly woke me up to tell me that we were about to land.
